About Me

I’m Destiny Slater!

Better known as
“Reptonic” & “Slatertoons”

I’m an independent freelancing cartoonist based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I graduated from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science degree in Media Arts & Animation (2018). I am confident in my ability to tell a story through illustrative means.

Currently, I am working on writing my upcoming large graphic novel project, “How Lovely!~” and I hope to have my first publication in 2021. On the side, I work with a variety of clients to help turn their ideas into reality.

My goal is to connect with my clients and others alike to fulfill my dream and passion as an artist.

You are welcome to contact me and we both will warm up!

How Lovely~

This graphic novel project is the current priority. "How Lovely!~" is an epic adventure fantasy comic with a sprinkle of psychology, sociology, and comedy.

A trio, whom each holds extreme life perspectives (optimism, pessimism, and neutral), goes out together to unintentionally wreak havoc, fight to dismantle a local corrupted wearable biotechnology fashion company, all while discovering the main character's, Kuro's, mysterious history about the curse that caused his hair to be alive as a snake and it can devour smaller animals.

The first volume is expected to be released next year in 2021.

See You Later, Slater

A small pet project on the side, it is available on Webtoons.

A silly lighthearted and sometimes educational autobiography webcomic about a clumsy, socially awkward Deaf person, babbling about a variety of incidents. It can be the horror in miscommunication, randomness, geckos, and other mishaps.

Artist: An individual producing the commission ("Destiny Slater" / "Reptonic" / "Slatertoons" )Client: An individual purchasing the commission.Commission: The form of service provided by the artist to the client per the commission agreement. NSFW: An abbreviation for "Not Suitable/safe For Work" meaning the context itself is not something to be opened up in a public place such as workplace, school, or anywhere else, due to the adult theme involved.

• Artist’s average turnaround varies depending on request. One-character, full-rendered digital illustration of one character can take 1-7 days. For 2D animation, 1-3 month(s). Artist always will inform client about turnaround in discussion before payment.
• Artist is not responsible for holding onto old commission files. Client is responsible to save file and keep track of it, and it won't entitle them to free work down the line.
• Complex characters and specifications may be subject to a higher price.
• All artwork is signed with artist’s real name ("Destiny Slater") except for NSFW artwork.
• Artist always uploads commission to social media sites, unless client specifically requested not to. It will probably be uploaded to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, DeviantART, Patreon and Ko-Fi.
• If client is anxious about commission, please let artist know at the beginning of the transaction, and the artist will do their best to help minimize that anxiety.
• Client can check artist's current to-do progress here:

• Payment is sent through PayPal only in USD. Client will receive an invoice on Paypal by artist.
• If client chooses to cancel the commission and it has already been worked on, client's refund will reflect the progress made on the piece.
• At least half of payment is due up front, before the artist begins working. Client will receive a low-resolution and heavily watermarked file until they pay in full.
• If client really like artist's service and work, tips are welcome and appreciated!

• The artist reserves the rights to reject commission if it comes to:
---- Copyrighted materials, unless given permission from the owner (will require proof) and fan character is fine.
---- Minor client (Under 18 years old) ordering NSFW work.
---- Hate speech.
---- Real-life people who are not either artist or client, unless given permission from those people (will require proof).

Things that can modify the cost of an order
• Due to the additional time and effort, the cost increases if it comes to:
---- Complex Character Design
---- Specific detailed background
---- Additional Character(s) (+ 50% of base price per character.)
---- Written text as a reference instead of visual reference.
---- If it is adult-material / NSFW

Work in Progress
• If the client asks for updates, the artist must accept the client's decision.
• Client will not be charged for wanting to see their commission work in progress.
• Artist will contact client and show them work in progress whenever the artist has questions, completed sketch, ink, flat color, shading/lighting, and then touch-up to the final.

• If artist decides to cancel on client's commission, then client will get full refund regardless of process of the commission.
• Artist will accept full Refund before and after artist's sketch.
• Artist will accept partial Refund once artist has flat colored client's commission
• There will be no refund once the picture is finished.

• It is client's responsibility to communicate with artist if they have any concerns and want to make changes to the work.
• Artist will fix small/minor mistakes and fixes for free.
• If client wishes to make major change to pose, entire character design, scene, and alikes, after artist's sketch/rough draft has been completed. then client will be charged half of the base price. 1/4 of the base cost extra more, if it has been colored in already.
• Once the commission has been approved, labeled completed and uploaded to social media sites by artist, it is completed and cannot be altered anymore after that.

Using and Re-Posting Your Commission Image
• By commissioning artist, the client does not own the rights to the image, the client is paying for the work. If the client is interested in buying the rights to the image, please specify that before commissioning artist.
• The client may upload/use the commissioned artwork to their personal website or gallery, but credit to artist is required.
• Client may NOT re-sell, edit, alter, claim the commission work as their own, or use this work for profit gain in any way, shape, or form unless the artist transfers copyright to client.
• If the client is selling a character and a piece of my artwork is included, they may not sell artwork along with it, unless the artist was contacted and given permission beforehand.
